Hiking in the Adirondacks last weekend, I met a young woman who attends Tufts University, where she's majoring in Peace & Justice. I didn't know there is such a major. Sounds so sixties to me. But makes sense, since our world so badly needs people willing to devote their professional careers to figuring out how people can get along more effectively, especially in places where civil strife has caused so much hardship and inhibited the abilities of entire populations from getting the skills needed to help their countries keep up with progress elsewhere.

And if she were to end up in your company, what skills would a Peace & Justice major bring to your team? How would you use them?
