In case you are wondering whether a boss' belligerent or inappropriate remarks to or about a subordinate can come back to bite, take a look at this.
You may have seen this narrative, since I understand it has made the web rounds. When I saw it today, I read it again with my "conversational" hat on and considered just what kind of conversations take place in the workplace that should not take place at all.
Fact is, the story is even better, because this entire white board narrative was staged as a hoax. The young woman in the pictures agreed to take part in the effort of the guys behind the a bunch of websites they run, as part of their practice of staging hoaxes.
Hoax or not, I'll be there are more than a few bosses out there whose computer monitors would reveal some unflattering stats on how they spend their day.
At the least, the HOPA narrative must set off some interesting conversations about appropriate behavior in the workplace. Apparently several hundred thousand people checked it out, many tweeting about it as well.
So the conversation about HOPA's is trumped by the story behind the hoax itself.
