Do you know Bret Stephens? He's the foreign affairs columnist for the Wall Street Journal and I'd like to meet him. I like the way he thinks. With the one exception that he places blame for our current economic mess on President Obama. I disagree with that. But it's a quibble because the other stuff he says is good.
While thinking of the pretty predictable commencement addresses discussed in the media so far this year, I was hoping that someone would break the mold and tell these kids something new, something provocative.
Bret Stephens did that. Not in an actual commencement address but in his recent column. It's so good I want you to read it for yourself. What's more, even if you're not a new grad, no matter. It's still good advice. I especially like his tagline to the article: "Tone down your egos; shape up your minds..."
