This is my first time to visit in the USA and I have been living in New York city for 10 months. I'm delighted that I have improved my English since speaking English is about the most important thing I want to accomplish here.
I got an opportunity to do an internship at Wf360 and it will be one of my unforgettable experiences. I have had several part-time jobs in Korea, but this is the first time I have worked in a professional setting as an intern. At Wf360, I'm learning the importance of communication among people. This company creates new luxury conversation events where business people get together and share their opinions and perspectives around table while having breakfast. It makes people feel comfortable. How wonderful this idea is!
People in Korea also believe communication is essential, but I think we still lack skills in face-to-face communication. I would like to see Koreans take up Wf360's innovative idea of how to communicate with each other and believe it would be successful.
Wf360's offices are in the Flatiron area of Manhattan, close to Madison Square Park. Since Sep 27th, a "Pop-up" called "Madison sq eats" has been operating and will stay open until Oct 25th. There are fabulous things to eat: American food, Mexican food, Asian food, Italian food and many others. During this small food festival, I go there and grab some fresh and flavorful food. There are several tables and chairs set up with nice flower patterned beach umbrellas.
We have public parks in Seoul, Korea, but there are different from plenty of parks in NYC. Even though our land size is much smaller, we have enough places to lay back and enjoy our life, but we don't exploit the resources that we have. For example we only use our parks on the weekends.
In Seoul, our parks are far away from the place where you live and work. Here in New York, I can go and grab some food from several different food stands near my work, and then go to Madison Square Park to enjoy my food under the warm sun, which is awesome. Each of the Madison Square Park pop-up stores offer its own style of food made New York style or some other authentic style. If you are with friends, you can explain the food you are eating and share different cultures.
Madison Square Park is surrounded by diverse work places and every day I see people enjoying their lunch hour with different kinds of food while talking with colleagues or friends in the park. Who knows? Some of them are just having lunch and taking a break while others could be talking about business and walking in the park. It is great to see how people in the USA communicate so freely with one another. I want to apply that to my daily life. That's why I LOVE Madison Sq Park.
I'm learning so much here. I hope many people get the opportunity to leave their country to study English abroad. Personally, I recommend New York as the place to come.
